Since 2024 I have been a proud member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen.

I’ve been working with timber for over 30 years although I only managed to turn a hobby into a business in 2016. I’m passionate about building you a piece of furniture that will last for generations.

I only use the best quality kiln dried oak, this has been seasoned for 2-3 years then kiln dried to a moisture content of around 11%. When you order a table I hand pick the boards from my local supplier.

Oak is a natural product, to help prevent any movement of your finished table, when the boards eventually arrive with me they have another 3 weeks of conditioning in a humidity & temperature controlled room. I can then start to make your table!

You will find me on a small farm in the Weald of Kent on the outskirts of Sevenoaks, surrounded by the beautiful Kent countryside. I try to make everything in house (including the legs), when I do have to out source work (such as powder coating) or specialist turned wooden legs I always use small local businesses and local suppliers.

I LOVE my job! I will always try to deliver your table to you myself. The enjoyment and satisfaction I get with the process of making a bespoke piece of furniture and seeing it placed in the room it was made for, is something I will never get bored of.

He gave advice on the size of the table for our room, where to place the legs for maximum usage etc and was happy to answer my endless questions while I decided on the finish we wanted. Massive thanks to Tom - we are delighted with the dining room table and bench he made for our new house. Tom was very friendly and had excellent communication throughout, offering prompt and useful advice on size, finish etc. The visit to his workshop was particularly useful. Delivery was efficient, with useful tips on aftercare. The finish of the table and bench is great, with some brilliant features in the character oak. Having recently refurbished our kitchen we were looking for the perfect table for the dining space. Rag and Byrne was recommended by a family member who had also had a table from him. The table is quite stunning in natural oak with crossed anthracite legs and bench to match. Tom made our kitchen table totally bespoke. It looks fabulous and all the finishes fit perfectly with the colour scheme in our kitchen. The design is really special (it’s the x leg one) because people can slide alongside it without bashing their knees on the legs and I love love love the wiggly edges on the table top. All of this for the price of a nowhere near as nice table from somewhere like Oka or Barker and Stonehouse and it was finished in 4 weeks. Absolutely awesome all round.
