Handmade Style Designed for You
My passion for furniture and woodwork began as a child however Rag & Byrne only got going back in 2014, I found myself with some free time and started experimenting with upcycling furniture out of scaffold boards and pallets. It wasn’t long before I was supplying custom made tables to friends and family, which is when I realised that this is where my heart wanted to take me. I still had a full-time job so at this stage it was still only a hobby.
After various different ‘life events’, Rag & Byrne had to go on pause, I moved back to the countryside where I grew up. I was unhappy in life I needed a change the perils of work and personal events were taking their toll. So 18mths later I made the huge decision to leave my job to focus on Rag & Byrne full time. You will now find me on a small farm in the weald of Kent on the outskirts of Sevenoaks, surrounded by the beautiful Kent countryside hand crafting tables using locally sourced materials. The enjoyment and satisfaction I get with the process of making a bespoke piece of furniture and seeing it placed in the room it was made for, is something I will never get bored of.
Apart from two part time staff I use for timber processing, delivering and assembling tables, my furry assistant Betty is the only full-time employee at Rag & Byrne. Betty’s main focus is more on the off cuts of timber or anyone who comes to visit rather than the tables, but she’s great company!
When you order a table from Rag & Byrne you will be ordering a unique piece of furniture specifically built to fit your requirements. Every table I produce is crafted with care, passion and attention to detail, to ensure you will receive a beautiful centre piece in your home for years to come.
